Best Organic Baby Clothes UK (2026): Brands Worth Knowing

Peacock White and Cow organic cotton baby bundles in kraft gift boxes

Search for the best organic baby clothes in the UK and you'll find plenty of lists. Very few of them explain what 'organic' actually means on each label, which is the thing that matters most.

We're an organic baby clothes brand ourselves, so we're not neutral, and we won't pretend to be. What we can do is be straight about what each brand uses, what certification to look for, and which one suits which family. We've included ourselves, and we've tried to be fair to everyone else.

Our Peacock White and Cow baby bundles, in 100% GOTS certified organic cotton.

How we put this together: we looked at each brand's own published information about fabrics and certification in October 2026. Ranges and certifications change, so always check the label and the brand's site before you buy.

What to check before you buy

'Organic' on a baby clothes label can mean very different things. Before you compare prints, compare these:

  • Is the whole garment certified, or just the cotton? GOTS covers how the cotton is grown and how the fabric is processed. 'Organic cotton' on its own only tells you about the farm.
  • What percentage is organic? GOTS 'organic' means at least 95% certified organic fibre; 'made with organic' means at least 70%.
  • What is it blended with? Many popular baby fabrics are blends, and 'bamboo' is usually viscose made from bamboo pulp.
  • Will it last to a second child? Durability is the most underrated sustainability feature of all.

Our plain-English guide to what GOTS certified means goes into more detail.

The brands

Lucy & Sam

That's us. Every piece is 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, designed in the UK, with big, playful prints like The Cow and The Peacock that are gender neutral by design so they pass between siblings and cousins. Sizes run from 0-3 months to 5-6 years. We're a small brand, so ranges are tighter than the bigger names, and some sizes sell out.

Frugi

One of the best-known organic children's brands in the UK, with bright, cheerful designs and lots of practical touches for active kids. Frugi says it uses only organic cotton in its virgin cotton ranges. A good choice if you want a wide range across many categories in one place.

Little Green Radicals

A UK brand that was an early adopter of Fairtrade cotton and states that its cotton is Fairtrade and GOTS certified. Its designs are fun and colourful, and it is a strong pick if Fairtrade matters to you as much as organic.

MORI

A premium brand known for very soft sleepsuits and ribbed basics. Most MORI sleepsuits are a blend of around 70% bamboo viscose and 30% organic cotton, which gives a silky, stretchy feel that many parents love. If you prefer 100% cotton, check each product's composition.

Organic Zoo

A Brighton-designed brand with a calm, muted palette and minimalist styling. It uses organic cotton and says it sources from suppliers with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which tests the finished fabric for harmful substances.

How to choose

  • Want GOTS on every piece? Check each brand's certification and the label on the individual item.
  • Want the silkiest feel? A bamboo-blend brand may suit you, as long as you know it is viscose.
  • Want clothes that will be handed down? Choose durable cotton and unisex prints.
  • Buying a gift? Go a size up and look for bundles; see our gender neutral baby shower gift guide.

Common questions

What is the best organic baby clothes brand in the UK?

It depends what matters most to you. Look for whole-garment certification such as GOTS, check the fibre composition, and choose a style and price that suits your family. Several UK brands use certified organic cotton.

How do I know if baby clothes are really organic?

Look for GOTS certification on the product, not just the words 'organic cotton'. GOTS covers both how the cotton is grown and how it is processed, and certified brands can be checked on the public GOTS database.

Are bamboo baby clothes organic?

Most bamboo baby clothes are viscose made from bamboo pulp, often blended with organic cotton. Check the composition label to see what percentage is cotton and whether the cotton is certified.

Every Lucy & Sam piece is made from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton and designed in the UK to be worn, washed and handed down.
