I had an organic baby and children’s clothing brand called SuperNatural Collections. As well as organic cotton I also used nature-based cotton alternatives like Modal (made from Beech trees) and bamboo. In 2017 I wanted to explore using all the new fibres being developed from things like banana skins, coffee grounds, and orange skins, but I realised that I would need a lot of money to do all of that and be a much bigger player in the industry. I knew that there were many companies out there (like Lucy & Sam) doing similar to what I was doing - only much MUCH better - so I got to thinking that it was a bit pointless carrying on.
I heard about the circular economy. Instead of using stuff and then throwing it away, keeping stuff in circulation for as long as possible, or to be truly circular keeping it, or its parts, in use forever. I heard about a wonderful baby clothing rental organisation called Vigga based in Denmark and wondered if I could adapt that idea to the UK’s wants and needs.
Then I came across the Hubbub stat that there are 183 million items of outgrown baby clothes stored in UK cupboards, so I decided to do something to lessen that load. I came up with the name SuperLooper, and did lots of focus groups and beta tests. With the help of a group of fashion industry friends I finally launched at the end of 2020 and now have a wonderful business partner Ashwin, who is building us a bespoke rental platform, and Kate, who is our social media and operations angel.
We wash and iron the clothes, add SuperLooper barcoded labels, photograph and then upload them to our site. We use eco detergents and never tumble dry.
We grade the items based on the likelihood that someone would want to rent them out and dress their own baby in them.
Some pieces almost improve with age, gaining a ‘vintage’ feel and we also get a lot of barely worn, or even completely unworn, pieces coming in. Things like this would be graded as ‘SuperLoopable’.
If an item is in a good overall condition but is a bit faded or has started to become a little bobbly, this would be ‘Loopable’. We rent these items out at a lower price to account for their worn condition. Items that have been fixed up with new buttons, patches etc. may also make it to this category.
Pieces that are very worn, stained, or damaged and cannot be rented will be graded as ‘recyclable’. We ask that people recycle items like this themselves by taking them to a ’SOEX’ clothing bin in Brighton or a local textile recycling initiative if you are elsewhere in the country. We have a SuperLooper hashtag #ownyourfuturenotyourclothes. This speaks to the fact that by renting, and therefore sharing clothes, you're reducing waste and the need for more garments and all their components to be produced.
In the last 15 years with the rise of fast fashion, clothing production has almost doubled and yet clothing use has declined by almost 40%*. This is why it’s so good to work with brands like Lucy and Sam because your clothes are made from good quality fabrics, with good quality prints and with good quality manufacture - ie. they’re made to last.
We certainly don’t want wonderful brands to stop producing new clothes - what a boring world that would make - and there are many people who don’t fancy dressing their babies in pre-loved clothes. Many consumers would still like to do their bit to help reduce waste though, and this is a great way for them to be involved with what we do.
Renting also gives you flexibility. Because you only pay a few £’s per month to rent, you can try out styles and colours that you might not otherwise have gone for. Or if you have a special occasion you can find lovely clothes from all the treasures in our library to suit that special day - and then give it back! You can also quickly change your child’s wardrobe if there’s a rapid change of season or weather.
You’ll also save storage space because you can just clear out your cupboards and send everything back at the end of each month.
And finally, you can save money because paying a small amount to use an item for a few months works financially.
Prolonging the life of your clothing has the biggest, most positive impact that you can have on the environment when it comes to textiles. Laundering clothes isn’t great for the environment, but of course baby clothes need a LOT of laundry action so it’s good to get into some good habits:
- Try to wash stains as soon as they happen – especially banana stains, they’re the worst!
- Get familiar with wash symbols – they’re there to help us keep our clothes in good condition.
- Wash at 30 on gentler cycles. Washing at cooler temperatures can help clothes last longer, save money on electricity and reduce micro-fibre release.
- Always let your clothes air-dry where possible. Tumble dryers make your clothes shrink, fade and wear faster and are thought to increase the shedding of micro-fibres. They’re handy of course but are to be avoided if possible – they really are an environmental no-no!
Babies grow so fast lots of items are only worn a handful of times before they head to the back of the cupboard, or worse, to the landfill or incinerator!
90% of carbon emissions are emitted at the first production stage of a garment so an item needs to be worn a lot to balance this out, and with fast-growing babies this just isn’t possible! Renting an item reduces the carbon footprint of an item that would only be worn once by over 50% - even with cleaning and delivery.
We aim for our delivery to be as low-waste as possible. All deliveries within Brighton and Hove are carried out by bike or can be dropped off and picked up from the WRAP Play Cafe at the Low Waste Parenting Group.
For UK wide orders we use recycled materials for our packaging and encourage SuperLoopers to reuse the boxes or bags to return their orders in. We will reuse packaging wherever possible.
- Our planet is over-capacity in terms of waste and consumerism. We have enough clothing on the planet right now to clothe the next six generations of the human race according to Patrick Grant of Sewing Bee.
- Baby clothes and childrenswear in particular represent a disproportionate amount of the thousands of tonnes of clothing in landfill because children quickly outgrow their clothing, typically moving up seven sizes in their first two years.
- As well as the high cost and limited lifespan, mass production of garments places huge pressure on the environment through waste, water consumption and carbon emissions.
- There is a staggering 183 million pieces of outgrown baby clothing stored in UK homes, that’s enough to provide 250 items for every UK baby born each year.
- 7 in 10 parents have outgrown baby clothing stored away that they don’t use.
- 1 in 3 parents bin old baby clothing because they don’t know what else to do with it.
By working together with parents who get what we do together we can really make a difference.
We’ve now built a new and much improved rental site and we’re ready to take on many more customers so we’ll be doing all we can to spread the word and get people signing up. Once they do, they stick with us because we give great personal service and have so many lovely clothes for them to choose from. The addition of Lucy & Sam clothes to the library will really help catch people’s attention.
We're producing a promotional video all about the joy of SuperLooping and we have ideas about making our service available to more people and about what we’ll do with garments that are past their best. We’re finding green-wash free ways to track the impact SuperLoopers are having because apart from having access to beautiful clothes at affordable prices, this is what we’re all about. Exciting times ahead!

Getting away with the family is magical, but the idea of traveling with little ones in tow can be a great source of anxiety. We’ve pulled together our top tips for making the experience as stress free as possible!
]]>
The earlier you book, the more options you’ll have. You’ll have more options for accommodation, travel and experiences, and likely get access to special offers and early-bird savings too. Plus, booking in advances gives you more choice when it comes to booking seats that are close together or rooms that have everything you need.
There’s nothing worse than arriving at your destination after a long journey to find that you’ve forgotten to pack the sun lotion or a phone charger. Lists are a saviour. Write everything down for each member of the family, and make two copies. One for the way out, and one on the way back so nothing is left behind.
We all know that everything takes more time when you have children. To avoid last minute rushing, tears and tantrums, we suggest doubling your estimation of how long everything will take.
Try to start your journey late morning or early afternoon to avoid rush hour traffic, queues and unnecessary stress. Planning around these times means you won’t have to have a ludicrously early start, or face overcrowded tubes and buses. Plus, this travel window is typically the quietest time at airports. It’s a win-win-win.
Keep every single detail of your trip in one place and make sure you have multiple copies, physical and digital to be extra safe. This should include photocopies of passports, travel insurance details, booking confirmations, flight details, accommodation information and emergency numbers.
Access to a fridge, stove and counter space is absolutely essential when travelling with little ones, especially babies. Most hotels offer rooms with additional facilities so always check before booking a deal.
It’s always a good idea to have a look at nearby amenities, play parks and kid friendly activities. If you’re staying at a hotel, ask about what you’ll need to book before you go, and what can be arranged on the day to avoid disappointment. Also, locate your nearest hospital and pharmacy for peace of mind.
Remember, you’ll end up carrying their ladybug scooter bag at some point so make sure you don’t have more bags than hands. Less is best.
Long journeys are hard for kids. Who can blame them? Bringing a mix of toys (digital and non-digital) is a great way to keep them occupied whilst travelling. Top tip: avoid taking items that have lots of complicated pieces to avoid losing anything important or precious.
Most importantly, have fun. Stay in the moment and try not to let the stresses around you impact your holiday together.
]]>Let's change our plastic habits for good! We've gathered five easy alternatives to help you start making plastic-free swaps today.
]]>Single-use plastics are a huge problem, and we all want cleaner streets, oceans and communities, but it can be overwhelming and tricky to know where to start. So, to kickstart the challenge we've gathered five easy plastic-free alternatives to help you start making swaps today.
There are so many alternatives to plastic bags out there. From string market shoppers to extra large cotton tote bags, swapping the plastic bags at the supermarket for something durable and earth-friendly is a great place to start.
Top tip: Remembering to take a tote or two to the shops can be tricky, we suggest leaving a few in the boot of your car, or hanging them up near where you keep your house keys.
It's time to say goodbye to the plastic bottles and welcome a bamboo alternative. We love these sippy cups from Eco Rascals, not only are they 100% plastic free, the bamboo is farmed using sustainable methods without the use of pesticides.
Top tip: Once you're little one no longer needs the sippy feeder just remove the lid and keep using as a regular cup.
There's a huge amount of plastic in conventional nappies which is why we think cloth is the way to go! According to WRAP, cloth nappies are 40% less harmful to the environment than disposables and they can be used over and over.
Kit and Kin make some super cute designs and are made from sustainable and plant-based materials too.
Top tip: We've designed all of our organic cotton bodies and baby styles to be roomy enough for little ones to wear a cloth nappy underneath.
Did you know that the UK throws away 520 million bottles of shampoo every year? That's a massive amount of plastic.
Fortunately there is an easy (and wonderful smelling) swap to be made to reduce this waste. Enter shampoo bars: they're plastic-free, biodegradable and arrive in recyclable packaging.
Top tip: We've tried and tested the coconut bar from Faith in Nature and absolutely love it!
Whatever your preference, there's a plastic-free swap to be made when it comes to period products. We think DAME has some excellent options. From organic cotton tampons with reusable applicators, to reusable pads, there's something for all periods.
]]>Imaginative play is incredibly important for children, it improves their social, cognitive, physical, and emotional

Teaching our little ones about recycling, and how to live a greener life, is one of the best lessons we can give them to prepare them for the future.
]]>Recycling is one of the many things we can do to protect our natural resources on planet earth.
Teaching our little ones about recycling, and how to live a greener life, is one of the best lessons we can give them to prepare them for the future.
Since its Global Recycling Day, we're sharing our favourite children's books about recycling, green heroes and living in a more environmentally friendly way.
A beautiful book from award-winning illustrator Chris Haughton. It's all about a bunch of friends who make a plan to catch a bird, but the plan doesn't quite go to plan. A moralistic book to teach little ones that speaking their mind and voicing their opinions is always important.
A wonderful book for readers of all ages. It's a love letter to earth and all the amazing things she does to take care of life around us. It's poetic text celebrates how magical our world is, reminding us to always be a good friend in return.
A fantastic book to start discussions with kids about the simple things we can all do to look after our planet. Each spread tells shares a story and journey of real children who are do amazing ecological work, showing that whatever age you are, you're never too old to make a difference.
This book has everything our little ones need to know about what we're doing to the environment, the good and the bad. From pollution and waste, to clean energy and recycling, it's a great one for young ecologists who want to know more about the planet, and how they can get involved in making positive change.
An inclusive and accessible book that explores the untold stories of trail-blazing women who are making our world a better place. Written with hope and encouragement, it shows that all actions, big and small, can be powerful in the fight against climate change.
Full of fun and practical projects, Zero Waste Kids teaches kids how to reduce, reuse, and recycle at home, at school, and in the community too.
Who doesn't love David Attenborough? Part of the Little People, Big Dreams collection, this kid-friendly biography is all about the world's favourite broadcaster and conservationist, telling his story through stylish and quirky illustrations.
]]>Not only does proper care save time and money, but it also reduces overconsumption and extends the lifecycle of our clothes so we can wear our favourite things for longer.
Read on to follow our care tips to make your outfits last as long as possible.
Not as easy as it sounds, especially when it comes to kids clothes, but washing garments too often damages their fibres, and in turn, decreases their lifespan.
Kids are messy, we get that. From grass stains to crayons, ketchup to mud, their clothes often end up in the washer after just one wear. But sometimes they may just need a little freshening up. Spot clean where possible, or hang them outside or in a steamy bathroom to restore their cleanliness and reduce odours.
When you must wash your clothes, washing at 30 is plenty for organic cotton.
Low temperatures use less energy and are far gentler on the fabrics that make our clothes.
There are exceptions to this rule, however. Items that are worn close to the skin, like underwear and bedding may need a wash at a higher temperature.
Different materials have different requirements when it comes to washing. Be mindful of temperatures, detergent types and drying methods to avoid shrinkage or damage to the materials.
Since all of our items are made from organic cotton, hand or machine washing on low is the ideal way to keep them clean.
What we use to wash our clothing has a big impact on their longevity. Using eco-washes is not only gentler on the clothing and better for delicate skin, many companies (such as Ecover) are B-Corp certified and use best practices to ensure their waste is as minimal as possible.
This one can be tricky in the wetter months but drying clothes out on a line is the best option for keeping them in tip-top condition.
Not only do the clothes smell fresher, but air drying is also far better for the environment than tumble drying. Not only does tumble drying use more energy, it is also particularly damaging for natural fibres like 100% organic cotton and should be avoided where possible.
Dry cleaning should be a last resort when it comes to cleaning our clothes. It is a highly chemical-intensive process that not only impacts the environment but can create issues for delicate skin too.
In cases where dry cleaning is the only option, we advise searching for services that use eco methods like BLANC in London.
Correct storage of our clothes can help extend their lifespan. Keeping them in a cool, dry space will protect them from dampness, sun damage and heat. It’s important to make sure clothes are completely dry before putting them away, folding along the seams where possible to maintain the integrity of their shape.
When hanging clothes, be mindful of the hangers. Using padded hangers will avoid any snags or tears occurring, and will also prevent them from becoming misshapen too.
Noticed a hole, or a loose seam? Fix it as soon as you spot it. Repairing garments before the damage is too big will extend their lifespan - and save you time in the long run.
Using lint rollers to de-bobble jumpers, and rehydrating leather items can give favourite items a new lease of life. Caring for, and repairing our clothes, keeps them out of landfill and in a wearable condition for longer.
Love that skirt but it’s no longer fitting? A little alteration can add a new lease of life to a garment. Not only does altering the fit extend the lifespan of our clothes, it’s far cheaper to do than buying a whole new wardrobe.
Kids grow fast, something that fit last month is suddenly tight and ill-fitting. Before you throw it away, why not pass them along? Handing clothes down to family members or friends is a great way to prevent items from ending up in landfill, and is a great money saver too.
Energy saving habits to teach our kids. Talking to our little ones about climate change and the challenges we face can be daunting. But taking small actions, and giving them the tools to enforce good habits from a young age, can be a great way to start the conversation with them.
]]>Starting small makes lasting change easy, and showing our children how to conserve energy in the home is a great first step. Read on to see our tips.
It’s easy to let the tap run when brushing our teeth, but something as simple as this can save up to 18 litres of water per day, per person. That’s more than 4500 litres of water each year, enough for about 100 four-minute showers.
When it’s cold the easiest thing to do is turn the heating on. Instead of flipping that button, teach little ones to layer up instead. Not only does it help to conserve energy, according to Uswitch, putting a jumper on can save up to £320 on your heating bill per year.
They’re playing in the living room, but the bathroom, landing and kitchen lights are on too. Teach little ones to turn off the lights when they leave the room. Doing this saves energy, extends the life of your light bulbs, and means you’ll have to replace them less often. It’s a win-win-win.
Maybe the trickiest habit on the list. Reducing their screen time. During the summer months, it’s easy to get them playing outside. In the winter, this one can be tricky. Encourage kids to read a book, solve a puzzle or find a hobby that doesn’t involve a screen.
Children copy their parents. For these habits to stick, we have to adhere to them too. Leading by example is the most powerful way to instil good habits to encourage children to make the right choices in all aspects of life. Being eco-conscious is no different.
Join the conversation, what tips and habits do you teach your little ones about saving energy and leading a more sustainable life? We’d love to hear from you.
]]>My account is all about life as a mummy and of course my beautiful little Mila-Rose. I like to share experiences and things I love to my following, as well as advertise things myself and Mila-Rose truly think are great. I'm slowly building the confidence to speak more on my stories, and share that life with a toddler isn't perfect always! Being a parent is hard work but the most rewarding job in the world!
Mila-Rose is usually a very happy little girl who knows exactly what she wants. She is strong minded and eager to learn which I absolutely love as I am a teacher. She loves dancing and posing in front of the mirror. She brightens up my world with her crazy ways.
I love that your clothing is so different and unique. You don't see brands with your style so I like the fact it stands out. It's also lovely that you care about the planet.
We are trying to cut out on eating so much meat, red meat in particular. We also recycle everything and make sure we use reusable cups for our coffees out. Small changes, yet every little helps. I want Mila-Rose to grow up with the same attitude.
I'd like to nominate my beautiful friend @mrsleahmiles who I met on instagram and have had many play dates with her little boy Jackson. I'd also like to nominate my home account run by hubby who has worked so hard to make our house a home @shawfeelslikehome
My goal for next year is to lose some weight and take up running again. I did so much of this before having Mila-Rose. I also want Mila-Rose to experience as much as possible and be out exploring new places.
Why not give Daniella & Mila-Rose a follow over on Instagram?
]]>My account is a celebration of my love for colour and interesting patterns - I like to share a mixture of our colourful clothes, home, family life and exciting places we visit.
My little guy Finley is such a chilled out soul. He’s a second child, so he kind of has to be, but from day one he has slotted into our lives perfectly. His big brother Arthur is besotted with him too.
I love the ethos and the vibrancy of the clothes. I really try to ‘dress happy’ and find that dressing in bright colours is a genuine mood booster - especially in the Winter months! Lucy and Sam have a great selection of bright and colourful patterns that babies and toddlers can also enjoy wearing.
We use public transport for our adventures, and at home I use eco-friendly products and reusable items wherever possible (like reusable cotton wool pads). Our four year old Arthur is super into nature and animals, so i’m also constantly learning new things about nature and the planet.
I have a bit of an obsession with vintage kids clothes and @magsandmoovintage is a ray of sunshine with her fun content and colourful clothes.
My goals for 2022 are to take Finley on his first visit to the seaside, and to enjoy my last few months of maternity leave with some colourful adventures. Top of the list is the Yayoi Kusama exhibition at the Tate.
Love their style? Why not give them a follow over on Instagram.
]]>I have been a colour addict for as long as I can remember. During lockdown I especially loved it to increase my mood. It makes me happy and I hoped it'd make other people happy too. I also love twinning for exactly the same reason, it makes me smile and that's the positivity I like to have around me and Rio.
We find him hilarious, cheeky and a little smiler.
I’m a super fan of all the colour, and the animal prints too. Rio has a colourful safari room so we love all things that go hand in hand with that.
It’s an area that we could, of course, always improve on. I try to recycle, reduce using unnecessary packaging, and only buy items that I really love.
Yes, to spread more happiness and positivity.
Love colour? Why not give Hannah and Rio a follow on instagram.
]]>I’m a mum of two documenting our Devon life, always with my camera to hand. I am often inspired by our outdoor adventures but particularly enjoy capturing all the little details.
As the second child (I’m sure others will agree) Edith is absolutely wild, strong willed, sassy and hard work at times, but I wouldn’t have her any other way!
Goals for 2022 I would like to improve & challenge my photography skills further.
Why not give Celia & Edith a follow over on their instagram account to stay updated with their adventures? You can find them here.
]]>First up we have Anna and Finn, a lovely little family with a beautiful aesthetic who share moments of their life in Sweden over on their Instagram account @swedesathome.
Our account is basically just about Finn - but I’m trying to bring in more of our everyday life and soon there will be another little baby on it too! What inspires me to create content is if I see nice light or good weather and Finn of course!
Kind, generous (if it’s not easy peelers😂) and smiles to everyone he meets!
The fun prints and colours… But I do love that it’s so gender neutral and most of all that it is sustainable fashion!
I shop more second hand than new, and when we do shop new we shop quality instead of quantity! We are 80% vegetarian in our household, and try to shop food after season and only organic.
I do really like the account @hannasanglar - it’s in Swedish, but it’s really nice and homey - her house is incredible!
Yes, get Finn nappy free and to decide what I want to do after my maternity leave.
Like what you've seen? Why not give Anna and Finn a follow over on Instagram.
]]>Before we introduce them though, we'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who entered. We really appreciate you taking the time to submit, there were some excellent entries and we do hope you'll consider reapplying in 2023.
But for now, please give a warm welcome to our super Lucy & Sambassadors who'll be working alongside us through 2022, sharing all the new, exciting and wonderful stuff that we have in store the year. Scroll ahead to meet them!
We did Black Friday a little differently this year.
]]>We ran a campaign that gave back to those who need it most and called it #GiveBackFriday. For every item sold on our website, we pledged to donate £2.50 to Fareshare UK, the equivalent of 10 meals for children and families in need.
Well, the numbers are in.
Thanks to your generosity, and the kind people at Work For Good, together we have donated £500 to Fareshare, a total of 2000 meals!
That's a number to be very proud of ❤️

]]>With around 350,000 tonnes of clothing thrown away every year in the UK, the last thing we want is for our little one’s old clothes to end up in landfill, creating more waste for our planet.
That’s why it’s super important that we find ways to reuse them, recycle them and keep them in circularity.
Here’s our ideas on what you can do…
We’ve teamed up with SuperLooper to make it even easier to create a low-waste wardrobe for our little ones.
SuperLooper are a pre-loved clothing return service on a mission to keep clothing out of landfill, giving parents the chance to rent - rather than buy - and give outgrown items a new lease of life.
Keeping clothes in circulation extends the lifecycle of a garment, gives clothing the chance to be loved and worn again whilst also helping parents to save money, storage space and time.
And, for every parcel of clothing you send you'll receive a voucher to spend on your next order with Lucy & Sam.
Know someone who is pregnant or has recently had a baby? Help keep clothing in use by passing your little one’s outgrown outfits onto them.
And why not make use of our Lucy and Sam forever bags when passing clothes onto friends? They're 100% plastic-free and ideal for hand-me-downs, so fill them up and pass them on!
Set up an account on Ebay or Gumtree and sell your unwanted baby clothes online. Not only will this give your little one's old clothing a second life, but you can make some money from it too. Win win!
Some things are just too precious to throw away, so why not save some baby clothes and turn them into a keepsake you can hold onto forever?
If you’re a sewing machine whizz, you could use old baby clothing to make bunting or a patchwork quilt. Or, you could send your favourite pieces to Love Keep Create and have them made into a memory bear or keepsake cushion.
Put your unwanted baby clothes to better use by donating them to those in need. There are lots of registered charity shops across the UK that will accept used clothing, or you could donate to a local baby bank. Click here to find one near you.
If the used baby clothes you have can’t be sold or donated, then the best thing you can do is pop them in a clothes and textiles recycling bin. This way they can be made into something new, and nothing goes to waste! To find your nearest recycling point for clothing and textiles, visit Recycle Now.
Got any other suggestions for what to do with unwanted baby clothes? Check out our latest instagram post and tell us your ideas in the comments.

We all need shampoo for our little ones at bathtime. But why not say ‘bye bye’ to products with nasty chemicals and opt for something organic and natural?
At Green People, you can find a gorgeous selection of baby and kids’ shampoos that will leave your little one’s hair feeling soft, clean and healthy.
Made with certified organic ingredients, these shampoos come in a range of delicious scents from lavender to berry smoothie to citrus crush. They also have a scent-free option for babies with sensitive skin.
If you and your little one are chocolate lovers, making the switch from non-organic chocolate to organic chocolate can be a great way to support #OrganicSeptember this month.
Not only is organic chocolate better for those who eat it, but it’s also better for the farmers who produce it, as it is grown without the use of harsh chemicals and pesticides.
For toddlers and kids, we suggest trying a ToyChoc Box from the award winning, allergen free chocolate brand PLAYin CHOC. Made from just 3 organic ingredients (cocoa beans, coconut and vanilla), these chocolates are an ideal sweet treat for children, containing ⅓ less sugar than other leading chocolate brands.
They also come packaged in a beautifully designed box with an adorable 3D puzzle and fun facts card - think Kinder Surprise, but organic and plastic free!
As we all know, toddlers and kids love snacks. But why not swap their usual snack of choice for a scrumptious organic alternative?
Brands like Organix are brilliant for organic snack food for kids, offering a range of delicious and nutritious snacks from Cheese and Herb Puffs to Banana Rice Cakes to Strawberry and Apple Soft Oaty Bars.
Free from any nasty artificial colours or flavours, they are sure to keep your little one happy next time they ask you for a snack (which could be any minute now!)
Another brilliant way to support Organic September this month is by choosing organic cotton clothing for your kids.
Not only is organic cotton super soft and gentle on delicate young skin, but it is also much better for the environment than conventional cotton, reducing air pollution, water contamination and soil damage.
That’s why we are proud to say that, here at Lucy and Sam, all our baby and toddler clothes are made from sustainably and ethically sourced 100% organic cotton.
Explore our latest collection now and start your organic journey today!
Babies' skin is super delicate, and that’s why choosing the right skincare for them is so important.
To make sure what you are using is safe, non-irritating and toxin-free, consider using organic products.
There are lots of great organic skincare products for babies out there, but we particularly love this Organic Coconut Oil from Good Bubble.
Paediatrician approved and allergen free, this delicious-smelling tub of 100% organic coconut oil can be used as a moisturiser, nappy balm or even a massage oil, keeping your little one’s skin soft, healthy and protected.
Top tip: Always carry out a patch test with any new product you are using to make sure it’s suitable for your little one’s skin. Click here to find out how.
Getting a good night’s sleep is so important for your little one (and for you too!). So why not make their bed as comfy as can be with some irresistibly soft organic cotton bedding?
We particularly love this fun and colourful Jamboree Organic Sweet Dreams Single Bed Duvet Set from Little Green Radicals. Made from GOTS organic cotton, this beautiful set is soft, breathable and free from any harsh chemicals, making it super gentle on young delicate skin.
What’s more, all products from Little Green Radical come in 100% compostable bags, and are sent out in fully recyclable packaging, made from recycled paper - hooray!

Heading to the coast for a seaside adventure? Keep them inspired with these gorgeous beach toys from Liewood, including their Silicone Bucket and Spades and Adorable Ice Cream Toys. An absolute holiday essential, the Lucy and Sam Baby and Toddler Towel Robe is perfect for trips to the beach, but can also be used at bath time. Soft, organic and colourful, this seaside-inspired robe is guaranteed to put a smile on your little one’s face.

]]>To celebrate, we’ve put together some super easy ways you and your family can start helping the planet today.
Every year, more than 10 million tonnes of plastic end up in the sea, disrupting ecosystems and causing harm to marine life. Help save our oceans by avoiding single-use plastic, and investing in reusable alternatives, such as reusable water bottles, coffee cups and shopping bags.
Try to shop from brands that are making efforts to help protect the environment. Perhaps they plant a tree for every purchase you make, or organise beach clean ups to tackle plastic pollution…by supporting these types of brands, you are supporting the planet.
Become more eco-conscious by following the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! This means reducing waste products, reusing items so they don’t end up in landfill, and recycling certain materials so they can be made into other things!
Did you know that...beyond cardboard, tin and glass, it’s now possible to recycle all sorts of household items, including dental products, contact lenses and medicine blister packets? Check out TerraCycle to find out more.
Encourage your little ones to ‘go green’ and help raise the next generation of eco warriors. Whether that’s reminding them to turn off the tap while brushing their teeth, or encouraging them to put their litter in the bin at the park, the sooner our little ones practise eco-friendly habits, the more likely they are to continue these habits in the future.
Hand-me-downs are great. Help the environment by passing pre-loved items along to friends and family or selling them online. This prevents old clothes, toys and other products from being sent to landfill, giving them a new lease of life!

These are the four key points we always strive to work towards with the direction of our brand. We believe in high quality cotton garments that are made to last and can be reused as much as possible by constantly growing little people, no matter the gender. Buy well and buy less is a sustainable choice that we support by using 100% organic cotton in everything we make. It increases the life cycle of each garment, as well as encouraging pre-loved clothes to be shared and passed on in our LS Forever Bags.
Every unisex collection we launch is inspired by original ideas that create themes, colour palettes and prints you won't find anywhere else, all coordinated together in our unique styles.
If you want to be sure that what you're buying is grown in a truly sustainable way, certified organic cotton is one of the best options. Organic is the only system which eliminates toxic substances from the environment and instead works holistically, for the long-term benefit of people who work with it, and the planet.
Everything that we create is made with the softest organic cotton. As well as being more sustainable, it's also proven to be better for sensitive skin and conditions such as Eczema as it's free from unwelcome chemicals and pesticides.
The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is the most important ecological label for textiles in the world. It's tested for the presence of the toxic substances such as AZO dyes. At Lucy and Sam, we use only natural dyes in our garments which means that no harmful AZO dyes are used, meaning our processes do not contribute to global water pollution.
We partner with the best factories in Portugal and India to produce our designs. We only work with factories that meet the highest ethical and sustainable industry standards; measuring everything from the use of solar energy, the use of chemicals and dyes to the satisfaction and welfare of all the wonderful people putting your garments together.
From Tropical Frogs to Fugu’s, Paper Planes to Pixels, all our themes are born with a goal to be original, something a little bit different that you won't find anywhere else.
We like to weave playful ideas throughout our collections, like in our Where's Bear and Spot the Leopard styles. We're also keen to share sustainability stories too, which can be seen in our Bee Kind collection, celebrating the bee’s important story and how they are responsible for pollinating a third of the fruits and vegetables that we eat. Who knew that Broccoli's could fly!
Coming soon in 2021 is our Just Be You collection, a sustainable cotton story about the Chameleon who wanted to fit in with the crowd but realised that it’s always best to be yourself, encouraging individuality and equality in our little ones.
We love nothing better than dropping fun new styles and shapes to each collection we curate. From Japanese inspired kimono’s to quilted honeycomb fabrics to retro 60’s three-panel dresses, we're proud to make unique and different styles for our little ones to express their individuality.
Attention to detail is something we take great pride in. We add as many cute and quirky graphics to our styles as possible, using different techniques and textures to make our little items as fun and playful as possible for the little people that wear them.
No gender labels here, which is why all of our ranges are made with Unisex themes, colours and styles that can be enjoyed by all little ones. We always say let kids be kids, and let clothes be clothes, which is why we don't include any gender tags on our website or products. This also helps with the garment life cycle as they can be handed down to little brothers or sisters!

]]>Here at Lucy and Sam, we love all things wild and wonderful. So, to show our support for World Wildlife Day we’ve put together a list of 5 wildlife-inspired activities to help you and your little ones celebrate with us!
]]>Here at Lucy and Sam, we love all things wild and wonderful. So, to show our support for this important day, we’ve put together a list of 5 wildlife-inspired activities to help you and your little ones celebrate with us! Sound like fun? Keep reading to see what we have in store.
Birdwatching can be super fun and exciting for young children, and is a great way to spark their interest in wildlife. Help bring more local birds to your outdoor space by making your own bird feeder.
What you will need:Not only is this activity fun, creative and cost-effective, it also provides an excellent opportunity to start teaching your little ones about the importance of birds within our ecosystem.
For example, did you know that certain bird species, such as honeyeaters and hummingbirds, pollinate plants? This means that, like bees, birds help contribute to the world’s food supply and prevent certain wildflowers from going extinct - pretty cool, right?
Top tip: Avoid putting your bird feeder low to the ground, as it could make birds an easy target for cats! Try securing it in a hard-to-reach place, like the top of a tree.
With the weather getting milder and the sun finally coming out to play, what better time to get outdoors and go on a wildlife safari walk. For this activity, all you need to do is head to your favourite outdoor space, such as a local park or a nearby woodland. Whilst walking around, see how many different wild animals and insects you can spot. Look out for birds in trees, bees on flowers and fish in rivers and lakes.
Top tip: When it comes to wild creatures, it’s best to observe rather than touch. It’s important to teach our children to respect animals and their habitats, encouraging them to always be kind and gentle.
Did you know hugging a tree boosts your oxytocin hormone levels, making you feel calmer and happier? Why not try it on your next family outdoor adventure? Fun, simple and completely free, this activity is guaranteed to get your little ones giggling and smiling.
Top tip: Use this activity as an opportunity to teach your children about the importance of trees and why we must protect them. For example, trees provide a home and shelter for many forms of wildlife across the globe and are also vital in producing the air we breathe.
Exploring and discovering the outside world can be great fun for our little adventurers. Not only will this activity get your kids outdoors, it’ll also help them practise their ABCs.
For the safety of our wild animal friends, we suggest you stick to finding inanimate natural objects for this activity, such as shells, feathers and fallen leaves. If you do find any creepy crawlies on your hunt, simply say ‘hello’ and then leave them to do their thing.
We really hope you enjoy trying out this activity, and if you manage to find anything beginning with ‘z’, do let us know!
Top tip: Once you’ve finished this activity, sit down with your child and discuss all the items they’ve found. Encourage them to engage their senses by asking them to describe what colour the item is, what it feels like and even how it smells!
Bring out your child’s inner performer with a fun game of animal charades. This activity works best in small groups, but can also be played in twos.
This activity is an excellent way to get your child’s creative juices flowing and help them build confidence!
Top tip: Encourage your child to think about the animal’s characteristics and the way it moves. For example, does it have a tail? Does it have a beak? Does it hop? Does it slither?
